About Me & Flower Bud Creations

Nice to meet you.
Welcome to the Flower Bud Creations Online Shop! My name is Pa Chia Xiong, and I am Hmong American woman born and raised in Wisconsin.
Growing up in the US, I found it difficult to truly connect with my Hmong roots. As I grew older, I came to appreciate my roots the more I learned about my family's history and realized that I wanted to learn more and preserve my culture. So, in 2021, I decided to go forward with preparing to launch my own small, online, Hmong-inspired stationery business - Flower Bud Creations!
From hours spent making stickers, washi tapes, journals, greeting cards and more, I am so grateful to my family, friends, and my amazing boyfriend for supporting me in my journey. I’ll be learning along the way with you all, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the future has in store!
Please follow Flower Bud Creations' journey to learn more!

The Origin of "Flower Bud Creations"
How did I choose my shop's name?
The name of Flower Bud Creations came from my name. "Pa/paj" means "flower" and "Chia/tshiab" means "new". "New flowers" are flower buds that bloom into beautiful blossoms, which I strive for Flower Bud Creations to become ✿
What is the meaning behind, "Open Mind • Open Heart • Open Eyes"?
As an individual and entrepreneur, I hope to exemplify these words that have come to bear great meaning to me.
OPEN MIND - Have an open mind towards new ideas, cultures, and beliefs that differ from yours.
OPEN HEART - Open your heart to others with compassion and empathy.
OPEN EYES - Keep your eyes open and don't allow yourself or others to veil the opportunities and paths before you.

My Inspiration
The Hmong People
The Hmong are an ethnic group that migrated from Southern China to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, and during the Vietnam War. The Hmong became entangled in the war against the communist Viet Cong when the American CIA recruited them to fight in the Secret War. My parents, along with thousands of others, fled to the Thailand refugee camps and eventually migrated to the US in 1980.
My Parents
My parents are my biggest inspiration for starting a business. Through many hardships and struggles, they strove to provide for 8 children while navigating through a new culture, language, and lifestyle. They became entrepreneurs when I was a teenager and gradually but surely paved their way to success through their own hard work and perseverance.
